Introducing Our Founder: London Decker

For Earth & Artisan’s first article, we have the pleasure of introducing our founder, London Decker. A dedicated mother and wife, her journey to entrepreneur is a story shaped by compassion and love.

From an early age, London loved nature, wanted to protect animals, and sought to help people. When she was just six years old, she championed these ideals by becoming a vegetarian. She committed to doing good in her community, regularly volunteering with children with disabilities both at her church and at a therapeutic riding center. She found nature inspiring, delighted to spend countless hours in her grandparents’ backyard, her imagination running wild among the trees. She continued to love animals and nature into early adulthood, volunteering with a Wildlife Rescue organization. Her quest to help the community remains unwavering today; she is an ongoing volunteer with the Junior League of San Diego. 

London’s interests extended to include psychology and design, earning an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Architecture with an emphasis on Healthy Urbanism. She loves to see the potential in a home and work to improve a space. Professionally, this led to several jobs focused on Interior Design, Construction, and Real Estate. At home, she does the drywall patching and painting while her husband takes care of the electrical and plumbing. After seeing the remarkable transformation her own home has undergone, family and friends trust her guidance on their home renovations.  

London recently extended her responsibilities to include motherhood. The new family enjoys exploring local destinations like the San Diego Zoo and discovering hidden gems throughout the county. These gems include small wineries in Escondido, many of which have live music or fun craft fairs. While the grandparents are babysitting, this is London’s preferred method of relaxation, embracing a beautiful California day with live music and a glass of locally produced wine. London is an all-around foodie, enjoying trying new restaurants and baking cakes for family birthdays. 

Although she finds her new job as mom incredibly rewarding, London knew she could offer more. She reflected on the difficulty in finding ethically-sourced products while shopping online. She paired her experiences with excitement at the prospect of being an entrepreneur and launched her ideal online store herself. She hopes to set an example for her daughter of what it looks like to be a good mom while also following your dreams. London’s devotion to family is the catalyst for her commitment to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and conscious consumerism.
